Teaching holds a special place in my heart, and it is one of the key reasons I am drawn to academia. Stepping into a classroom, I see the potential to positively impact the lives of 70 or more individuals directly. While the structured class time is essential, I find great happiness in the informal interactions outside of class including my office hours. These moments allow me to forge deeper connections with students, understanding their perspectives, preferences, and areas needing improvement, which in turn guides my teaching approach.
In my teaching, I prioritize providing real-world examples, often drawing from my industry experience to highlight the practical relevance of the subject matter. My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that every topic, no matter its complexity, comprises simple components. By breaking down concepts into their fundamental elements, I strive to make learning more accessible and less intimidating for my students. The positive feedback I receive from my students about how this approach aids their understanding further inspires me to teach.
